When managing water flow in dynamic environments, precision and reliability are essential. Our client required a stream diversion system capable of handling variable flow rates ranging from 100 litres per second (360 m³/h) to 300 litres per second (1080 m³/h). The system needed to function 24/7 to maintain a dry working area while minimizing environmental impact.
To meet these requirements, we designed a robust, continuous-flow diversion system that ensured consistent performance under fluctuating conditions. The project demanded meticulous planning to prevent flow disruptions and safeguard surrounding ecosystems. By implementing a carefully calibrated pumping setup, we provided efficient water redirection, preventing excess sediment disturbance and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
Access restrictions at the site added complexity, requiring precise logistical coordination. Our team worked closely with the client to develop a strategic deployment plan, ensuring smooth equipment transport and installation despite the challenging terrain. Through a combination of expert engineering, proactive problem-solving, and environmental responsibility, we delivered a seamless, high-performance stream diversion solution. This project highlights our ability to design and execute specialized water management strategies, even in demanding conditions.
To address these stream diversion challenges, NES Hire collaborated closely with our client to establish a systematic delivery schedule. We designed a solution comprising three 6-inch submersible pumps, strategically installed in council-compliant fish cages. These pumps were configured to operate in a staged manner, adapting to the flow conditions to maintain optimal efficiency and compliance with environmental standards.
